DocNet and DAC are excited to invite you to a virtual gallery tour on Wednesday February 20th in Zurich at the Roehrs & Boetsch art gallery starting at 7 pm. Our visit will start with an introduction about the current exhibition CUBE by the gallery owner Nina Roehrs. Afterwards we will individually explore the virtual gallery and enjoy an apero together.
PhD Alumni Nina Roehrs and Tina Boetsch devote their gallery to exploring digitalisation and its implications for society. The current exhibition CUBE is a virtual reality platform, which simulates a virtual gallery for virtual art. New virtual reality architectures such as CUBE are the logical environment for digital and virtual art, especially three-dimensional art. With that in mind, CUBE is primarily intended for digital and virtual artworks with no physical prototype for which a faithful realization in the physical world fails or seems illogical.
Using VR glasses (Vive), we will enter the virtual gallery building where we embark upon an immersive, self-guided tour. A controller will be provided to move through the gallery space, extending over five floors, each floor exhibiting different virtual artworks. Participants can approach the artworks, walk around them and view them from different angles. Some works can be experienced through sound, and others are even interactive. The pioneer project CUBE combines exhibition space and art to form an integrated virtual reality.

DocNet and DAC are looking forward to welcome you to the event.
All DocNet members are kindly invited to join the train journey at 5:25 pm from St. Gallen to the gallery. The ticket for the train ride needs to be organised by yourself.
