DocNet Dancing Crash-Course

Prepare to hit the HSG Ball and fly over the dance floor!

You will learn basic steps and moves of various ballroom dances (Viennese waltz, English waltz, Disco Fox etc.) from a professional dancing instructor. You will also have some time to practice what you’ve learned. If you are not a beginner, the crash course is also the perfect opportunity to brush up your skills and work on your moves and techniques!

Participation is free!

Please note that you can sign up with or without a partner. If we can match you with a partner, we will confirm your participation via email. Instructions are in German, but dancing is not bound by language barriers. ;)

Design your Life Workshop

Are you looking for a change but wonder where to start? Do you find yourself in a hamster wheel and would like to find ways to get away from it? Or are you quiet hapoy but wonder what else is out there? Or do you have a strong vision and wonder how to get there? If any of those questions seem to apply to you, this workshop could be something for you.

In our Life Design Workshop you will discover what you are really looking for in your (working) life and how you shape your future accordingly. You will meet other people who are looking for individual solutions to realize themselves, to get something started, to make sense or to develop further. Together we embark on a search for a fulfilled life that gives you joy and energy.

Participation via the Young Investigators Programme is free for PhD students!

On 14th November, KUGL St.Gallen will host its first Science Slam. For that, students and scientists willing to participate are still needed. Present your research in a fun and engaging way to a wide and diverse audience. To participate as a slammer, please contact organiser Tobias Truetsch directly via email. Please make sure to briefly describe your topic / research when contacting him. Of course, participation as a slammer is free.

DocNet Running Team

Interested in getting to know the best running tracks around St.Gallen or tired of running alone? Then join our DocNet Running Team! We get together once a week for a breath of fresh air and some exercise. We meet at 7.00 pm at the University Sports Hall and then make our way through the nearby Rotmonten running trails. No registration necessary, just pop by!

PhD Survey 2019 - results now published!

Many of you (61.8% of all PhD students!) participated in the first of its kind PhD Survey at the end of last year. The survey was developed by a group of PhD students and asked about the PhD student`s satisfaction with their PhD programmes, their supervision as well as the working conditions. The survey revealed that 72.1% are happy or very happy with the decision to pursue a PhD at HSG. However, 21.6% are not or not at all satisfied with the supervision of their doctoral thesis. PhD Course on Qualitative Research Methods @ Copenhagen Business School

Are you interested in a course on qualitative research in Copenhagen? Then this short-noticed call might be just for you: Copenhagen Business School invites you to the course Qualitative Research Methods – 2019. The course will extensively focus on qualitative research as a research strategy that emphasizes large bodies of unstructured data that cannot be meaningfully analyzed by formal, statistical approaches.

The PhD course will take place on 21 - 24 October 2019 at Copenhagen Business School. The course counts for 5 ECTS credits and the participation fee is 6,500 DKK (~ 950 CHF).
