PhD Seminar: "Theoretical Foundations of Innovation Management" @ University of Zurich

We are inviting doctoral students to attend a PhD Seminar focused on the "Theoretical Foundations of Innovation Management" at the University of Zurich this fall. This three-day seminar will be taught by Professor Janell Townsend (Chair of Management and Marketing at Oakland University, Michigan) and Anja Schulze, in a format designed to help students develop the skills necessary to both publish and present their research.

Course content:
This seminar provides students with a substantive introduction to the theoretical foundations of innovation management and strategy. We will explore relationships between the competitive environment, managerial action and the creation, capture, and delivery of value through innovation and related activities. For this, we will review important studies from the management, marketing and product innovation literatures. We also address broader issues in the academic development of scholars, such as effective research paper writing, how to avoid errors in paper submission and replying to editors and reviewers, and even what goes into an effective article review. The course is structured specifically to build academic written and verbal presentation skills in conjunction with the innovation area materials.

Class dates:
Wed. 27. November 2019, 10:00 – 17:00
Thur. 28. November 2019, 10:00 – 17:00
Fri. 29. November 2019, 10:00 – 12:30

Application deadline: 15. October 2019
