Board Term Ending - Thank you all!


This is the last newsletter from your 2019/20 DocNet board. We want to take the opportunity to thank you all for your enthusiasm the past year. We highly appreciate your support, the good spirit, and the strong interest in all our activities. DocNet is a community, and we are proud to be shaping it together with you. DocNet Mario Kart Tournament Vol. 2


On March 5, DocNet celebrates the great Nintendo 64 era by hosting its second Mario Kart Tournament. Everyone is invited to join! No matter if you have no or little experience in playing Mario Kart, or if you are an absolute pro – just come by and have fun.

Of course you can also join as spectator, have a drink, and cheer for our dauntless drivers!

The tournament will start with some free practice. Then, we will have a Qualifying as well as multiple races on different tracks and against different competitors, in order to determine our best drivers qualifying for the ultimate final! Amazing prices are awaiting!

DocNet meets DAC - DocDrinks in Zurich


On 19 March, DocNet, together with the Doctoral Alumni Club (DAC), invites you to a get-together between current and former HSG-PhDs in Zurich (Manzoni Bar, Schützengasse 15, 8001 Zürich). Meet with your peers and network with former HSG-PhDs in a relaxing afterwork atmosphere.

For those of you who plan to travel from St.Gallen via public transport, we will take the IC leaving St. Gallen main station at 5:37pm from platform 3.

DocNet Running Team


You have made a new years resolution and want to see it through? Or are you tired of running alone? Then join our DocNet Running Team! We get together weekly for a breath of fresh air and some exercise. We meet Tuesdays, 7.00 pm at the University Sports Hall and then make our way through the nearby Rotmonten running trails. No registration necessary, just pop by!

The running group is intended for both beginners and advanced runners. We will run at (almost) all weather conditions! If you need more information or want to know whether we will be running, write to Joachim (joachim.stonig@unisg.ch) or ask in our WhatsApp group.

Social Ontology Conference 2020, Neuchâtel


In July 2020 a conference on Social Ontology will take place in Neuchâtel, organized by the philosophy department. We would like to open participation to people from other areas than philosophy, such as researchers in economics. We invite you to submit an abstract/paper. Information is available here: https://isosonline.org/Social-Ontology-2020 (the deadline will soon be extended).

We are open to many topics of economic theory, such as the relation between micro and macro foundations, meta-ethical or ethical foundations of economics, the nature of preferences, decision theory, market mechanisms, ontology of money, …. and any other topic more or less related to social ontology.
